Do you think it looks as good as long leather boots? I have dressage competition this weekend and my aunt got me short leather boots with leather chaps that i personally find attractive and smart. Do you think i can compete in those without looking less good than other riders in other boots? What do you think? They are black and brand new, but cannot be changed for long boots as they were bought in sales. What do you think, honestly.
Thanks a lot!!!

I Wear my chaps and Paddock Boots (SHort leather boots) all the time at shows.
I Do have long boots but i find them harder to ride in then chaps.
Go for it!!! Ad good luck.x

I personally like the look of long boots better but I think you would be fine to use what you have. As long as you look neat and smart I would not worry at all.
Good Luck with the comp!

Well you can’t really tell the difference from a distance, plus I find that its handy to have them as you can wear the short boots around your place and for practise, and just add the leather chaps (gaiters) for when you go to shows. No one will think you aren’t as good or professional if you don’t wear long boots. It still looks really smart. Good luck at the show =)

As long as it’s a schooling show and you are permitted to, then go ahead! However, if it’s a rated show, it’s required to wear tall boots.

i think it’s your personal preferance as to what you want to wear into a show, unless the show has regulations stating what is and isnt allowed. Other then that, if you want to wear that, then wear it. As long as you look cleaned up and ready to show.
good luck.

I don’t mind the ones that are black smooth leather gaiters that look like tall boots from a distance. However, in general I find that half chaps look less polished than what you want for a show. Since this is what you have for now, and if you like them, go for it and don’t worry about it.
If you are in the US and going above Training Level at a recognized show, tall boots are required.
